after all the joy...this is my humble observation.....kaka was good...how good?....well he is diving like C.Ronaldo....and gatuso and nesta, dida and the old man captain was really strong...

Benitez quick to seek more cash
Rafael Benitez has warned new owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks they will need to spend some serious money if Liverpool are to stand a realistic chance of meaningful silverware next season.
Whether the Merseyside giants won or lost last night's Champions League Final, Benitez always knew it would be a summer of rebuilding at Anfield.
But the 2-1 defeat by AC Milan in the Olympic Stadium has only strengthened his resolve ahead of a key strategy meeting with Gillett and Hicks to pinpoint Liverpool's plans for the future.
'If we want to be contenders next season and back in the Champions League Final, we need to improve the squad,' he said.
'When you see the quality of some of the other teams, it is clear.
'It is not easy to find the right players.
'Manchester United just spent £20million on Owen Hargreaves, so we know what the market situation is.
'But if we want to be close to United and Chelsea and to have another chance in the Champions League, we need to go two steps at a time. I hope I get the backing to do that.'
So minor were the differences in last night's encounter it could be argued Benitez does not have that much work to do.
Had Steven Gerrard or Jermaine Pennant taken the chances which fell their way before Filippo Inzaghi's fortuitous opener, when he deflected Andrea Pirlo's free-kick past Pepe Reina, Liverpool could easily have landed their sixth European Cup.
But once the Reds adopted a more offensive approach as they chased the game in the latter stages, Milan were able to find the gaps to cut them open a second time, Kaka feeding Inzaghi for a fine second.
Benitez brought on Peter Crouch for Javier Mascherano and admitted: 'It allowed us to take more risks in attack but then we lost control of the midfield.
'Unfortunately, when you do that against a side like Milan, they can kill you with one opportunity. It only takes one pass from Kaka and that is what happened.'
Dirk Kuyt's close-range header in the final minute did raise hopes of a comeback equally as unlikely as the one Liverpool produced against Milan in Istanbul two years ago.
This time Benitez's side were thwarted, not helped by German referee Herbert Fandel, who failed to play the full three minutes of injury time even though Milan made a substitution which should have added another 30 seconds on.
Clearly unhappy, Benitez made his feelings known to Fandel and the new UEFA president Michel Platini as he went up to collect his loser's medal.
'It is not an excuse but I am disappointed,' said Benitez.
'After Dirk scored, we were confident we could get another but I was surprised by the lack of time we were given.
'It could have made a difference but in the end, I suppose you need to score in the 90 minutes.' ;D ;D
Uncle Sam asked Rafa 2 b more exact with the amt of $$$ needed 2 win an EPL,,4 d 1st time in their club history,,,, Benitez says..XXX mil ...The Yankees reply u must b refering 2 Spanish Pesetas,,no way Americano $$ or Euro... ;D ;D

Benitez offered cash to lure Owen Striker Michael Owen Owen scored 179 goals in 351 games over eight years at Anfield Liverpool co-owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks have vowed to back boss Rafa Benitez in the summer transfer market.
And American Gillett has not discounted a move for former Reds striker Michael Owen, whose future at Newcastle has been the topic of intense speculation.
"He is a great player but it is down to Rafa's recommendation, not us," Gillett said of the England international.
In an effort to stave off interested parties, new Magpies boss Sam Allardyce met Owen for the first time this week.
Allardyce interrupted his holiday to talk to the 27-year-old in the build-up to the England B international against Albania and outline his ambitions for the St James' Park outfit.
Owen has spent 10 months on the sidelines fighting his way back to full fitness and managed to play in his club's last three games of a difficult season.
But there are reports of a get-out clause in his contract and speculation that he could be available for as little as £9m.
Owen moved to Tyneside in a £17m deal from Real Madrid in August 2005, but has managed only 14 appearances to date following knee and metatarsal injuries, although he has scored seven goals in his first 10 starts. If Rafa said he wanted to buy 'Snoogy Doogy' we would back him
In eight years at Anfield before his move to Spain, Owen scored 179 goals in 351 appearances.
But Gillett and Hicks are not limiting themselves to Owen after promising Benitez funds to help Liverpool compete for the Premiership next season.
"If Rafa said he wanted to buy 'Snoogy Doogy' we would back him," added Gillett.
"Rafa's feeling is we need more depth because of the rigours of the schedule to be competitive.
"In every sport I participate in, there is a difference between a league season and the play-offs.
"That's where the genius of the manager is so essential and that's where Tom and I have to defer to his background and genius."

any takers,,kops floppers... ;D
Liverpool put £12m price tag on Bellamy to lead Anfield exodus....
Bellamy would yield a higher profit than many of the players Benitez is prepared to offload this summer. Bolo Zenden, Robbie Fowler and Jerzy Dudek are all free agents, while Mark Gonzalez is close to completing a cut-price move to Real Betis 12 months after his £4.5m arrival from Albacete, although the Liverpool manager is open to offers for several more.
flops,,flops,,flops,,clubs full of flops..kakakakaka ;D ;D
